![]() ![]() You can see there's a round indentation at the top of the side striker bar. When you latch them, the tension of the top latches pull the rear of the hard top forward, hence the gaps. The gaps happen when the top latches are set too tight. I'll talk you through the procedure.įirst, I need you to know the cause of the gaps. To get the latch to grip tighter you want the travel to be shortened right? I tightened both side latches all the way, turning the adjustment knob counter-clockwise to make the latch travel "shorter", and I tightened the front latches a good bit too. I'm assuming it's because it is not tightly latched enough? SimonTan told me to adjust the latches and secure the towers.which I did, but I am still not getting a tight latchdown. When I latch down the top it just barely presses down, enough to make a seal but.when I come at my driveway at an angle or put singnificant stress on the chassis I can hear the top shift ever so slightly. So the top makes a good seal now, but it's still not perfect. Well.after 5 attempts I finally got the right adhesive to secure the stripping. I figured the weather stripping had been worn down.or sumthin.so I decided to add an extra layer of weather stripping to the black strip on the car. 5-1 inch high on both driver and passenger sides. ![]() When I put it on the car there was a gap about. I bought a used hardtop and have had it on my car for awhile now and I have had the hardest time getting it to seal correctly. ![]()
